  4. Before using JChecker3.0

  6. What is JChecker?
  7. JChecker3.0 is a powerful HTML source code editor and the younger brother of Jedit4.0 which is our award-winning and popular text editor in Japan. It inherits the powerful editing functions from its brother and also supports many original functions such as the tag editing macro, the tag help macro, the services menu in OS X, 16 dictionaries for the HTML/XHTML validation, the dictionary auto-generation from DTD, the auto HTML error correction, the powerful link checking including the sub linked pages and so on.

  9. Classic and Carbonized JChecker
  10. There are two types of JChecker3.0 programs, "JChecker3.0 For Classic OS" and "JChecker3.0 For Mac OS X".
  11. When your OS is Mac OS 8.5-9.2, use "JChecker3.0 For Classic OS" which is a non-Carbon application.
  12. When your OS is Mac OS X, use "JChecker3.0 For Mac OS X" which is a Carbon application.
  13. "JChecker3.0 For Mac OS X"  does not work on the Classic OS of  Mac OS 8.5-9.2.

  15. JChecker is shareware
  16. JChecker3.0 is  shareware.  If you wish to continue to use JChecker3.0 after a trial period of twenty days, please register.  The registration fee is US$36 per user.  If you are a registered user of JChecker2.1,  you can upgrade to JChecker3.0 with $16 of upgrade fee.  For more about the registration, please refer the file "Registration."

  18. Macros
  19. JChecker supports more than 50 macros which mostly cover the HTML4.0 specification.   As those macros are written in AppleScript, you can easily modify and extend them.  If you had developed an useful macro, please notify us (support@artman21.co.jp).  If you agree, your macro will be opened to public in our JChecker Script Library.  The request for the new macro is also welcome.  We will write it if it were requested by many users.

  22. HTMLPlugIn
  23. The most of JChecker macros are designed to work with the application "HTMLPlugIn" which has been developed with the AppleScript developing environment "FaceSpan3.0" (Digital Technology International Inc.)  Unfortunately, as FaceSpan3.0 does not support the OS X native mode, HTMLPlugIn works in the classic mode on OS X.   Digital Technology International Inc. is now developing FaceSpan4.0 which will support the  OS X native mode. As soon as the FaceSpan4.0 is released, we will convert HTMLPlugIn to the OS X native application.
